  • We all know Andrew Luck from Stanford. He is the apparent winner of this years Heisman  through great campaining and a great cumulative college career.  He was basically handed the trophy after staying in school for an additional year. On all accounts, he deserves it as that is how the Heisman is generally won. You wait your turn. You would think that you would have to be at least the highest rated player at your position for a major college national title contender in order to win. If that were the case than Russell Wilson would be the current leader as he has tremendous numbers.

The name Keith Price has gone relatively under the radar on the east coast and the middle of the country but he will not be a secret for long. I have had the pleasure of watching this kid on a number of occasions this year for the Washington Huskies and let me tell you that the “Price is right” . He does everything very well. He has great pocket presence, he has great escapability, and he is an accurate passer on short, medium, and long throws. Price is great under pressure and he has thrown 21 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions on a team that is not as good as Stanford. He is only three percentage points behind Luck and only Luck, Griffin of Baylor, Moore of Boise State, and Wilson of Wisconsin are ahead of him in the college QB ratings.

This week Luck and Price meet in Stanford and I hope Price has the opportunity to show off his capabilities. Stanford tends to control the ball for what seems like hours on every drive. The Cardinal are very strong on the offensive line with a great running game and can control the clock. Price does not need too much time to score but he doesn’t have the offensive line that Luck has to work with and especially doesn’t have the defense to get him the ball back. I think you might be watching the current Heisman winner in Andrew Luck and a future Heisman winner in Keith Price in the same game this Saturday. Should be a great game to watch.
