  • Ohio State in Driver’s Seat for Big Ten Championship

With all the distractions and the troubles on offense (ESPN analyst called their offense the “most inept he has seen in years”, the Buckeyes have a great shot at winning the Big Ten. After their big win last week vs Wisconsin, Ohio State is 2-2 inside the conference and trails 5-0 Penn State in the Leaders Division. However, Penn State has not played any of the best Big Ten Teams yet and that part of their schedule begins next week when they host Nebraska. That game is followed by at Ohio State and at Wisconsin. Those games clearly look like losses for the Nittany Lions and I do not expect the Nittany Lions to have less than 2 losses when the regular season ends. If Ohio State beats Indiana at home, Purdue on the road, Penn State at home, they will be 5-2 with one more game at Michigan. If the Buckeyes beat Penn State as they should, the Lions would be 6-1 or 5-2 at that point and would need either Ohio State to lose to Michigan or for them to beat Wisconsin on the road. If the Buckeyes win out, they would be 6-2 and have the tie-breaker over Wisconsin who could also win the division if Michigan has 3 losses and they win the tie-breaker over Penn State. The Michigan-Ohio State game may decide the championship they way it use to do.
If the Buckeyes pull it off like I believe they will, they have a great chance at the Title because they have improved on offense since playing the other Legend division contenders, the Spartans and the Cornhuskers.
