  • Off big win, Sparty travels to Lincoln

    Line: Nebraska -4, Total 48 1/2

Everybody is the country saw the final play of last week’s Hail Mary victory win for the Michigan State Spartans.  Coming off two consecutive emotional victories over Michigan and Wisconsin at home, they now have to travel to Lincoln as a 4 point dog to a fresh Cornhusker team that features a strong running attack.  The first question that must be asked is, how much of of an energy advantage do the Cornhuskers have in this one?  If you don’t think that the Spartans’ legs may be a little tired after playin two very physical games the last two weeks, then you have to love the Spartans in this one.  Nebraska has been vulnerable on defense, especially against the pass all year and is for the most part a one dimensional attack on offense.  Michigan State comes in ranking towards the top in the nation in every defensive category and has a balanced attack that should give the Cornhuskers some trouble.  But how will the Spartans react on the road, a place that hasn’t been too kind to them in recent memory.  Earlier in the year, they failed to run the ball against Notre Dame and although the defense played well, they lost.

If you are an X’s and O’s handicapper, you have to love the Spartans.  If you are a beliver in the power of the home field advantage and fresh legs, then you must like the Huskers.  But remember, they must by more than 4.
