  • Oklahoma State survives over K State 52-45

Stillwater-The Jayhawks, fresh off getting spanked at home by the Sooners, regrouped and put together a great offensive effort and were very, very close to knocking off the #2 ranked Cowboys in Stillwater. The Oklahoma State defense has masked weaknesses by forcing turnovers and showing great endurance late in games. This week the offense showed up as usual putting up 52 against a Jayhawk defense that struggles to put pressure on the QB. But the defense could not stop Kansas State’s QB Klein who ran and passed effectively seemingly moving the ball down the field all day. He finished with 231 yards passing and 144 yards rushing. Not to be outdone, Cowboy QB Weeden threw for a school record 502 yards with most of it going to the unstoppable WR Justin Blackmon (13-205).
With a chance to tie with seconds remaining, KState was inside the 10 yard line but QB Klein threw consecutive incompletes allowing the Cowboys to hold on. The Cowboys were also greeted with the news that they are most likely in the national championship game if they can win out. A close call, but the Cowboys move on.
