Clemson pulls off the trifecta beating Auburn to end their winning streak, Florida State a top 25 ACC opponent and then another ACC oponent # 11 Virginia Tech on the road. That is three real good teams in succession with no weeks off in between. That is a great feat in college football and when it was over Coach Dabo Swinney was drenched in Gatorade in recognition of the accomplishment.

As for yesterday, Vtech’s offense is pedestrian at best and it showed up playing a quality team like Clemson. The Hokies never got anything going and Clemson’s offense eventually wore them down. Thomas seems lost at QB and does not seem in control behind center. His stats were underwhelming and he was sacked 4 times. He does not move well in the pocket and does not seem to know what to do out there. He threw for 125 yards on 15 for 27 with one pick. Maybe he will improve because as always the VTech defense is solid. They only gave up just over 300 yards to a potent offense but did not get to elusive QB Boyd. The Hokies did not get their usual turnovers and special teams play as Clemson was good with the ball. The Hokies cannot win the ACC without major improvement on the offensive side of the ball.
